From Proud Parent to the Professional “Pinckney Pirate” Realtor

 

• Rick has two daughters who are Pinckney High School graduates. Andrea has now a graduated from Northwood University in Midland, MI and works for Rick part time and also at H&R Block in Novi. Rachel is a Cosmetologist at Salon Silhouettes in Brighton.

 

• Through all of his community involvement, the fun carried over into his professional life as well. Since starting in Real Estate in 1999, many people got to know Rick and refer to him as the “Pinckney Pirate”. He wears a pirate hat equipped with fake long black hair to Pinckney High School football and basketball games and sells 50/50 tickets. Rick began branding himself and establishing a marketing program based on the Pinckney Pirate theme. He can be seen as “The Pinckney Pirate” at many local events, such as parades, festivals and expo shows.

Pinckney Lakeland Hamburg Hell Chamber of Commerce:

 

President, 2002 - 2007

• Helped launch “Shop & Dine M-36”, a program designed to help local businesses and raise community awareness of the area and events
• Helped start “Community Investment Awards”, to annually recognize the people/businesses in the area whom are putting money back into the local economy
• Represented the PLHH Division on the Board of Directors for the Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce

Board Member, 2000-Present

• Currently holds the position of Vice President
• Attends and supports all of the local Pinckney events, Chamber events, & directs traffic at “Art in the Park”
• Assists in planning monthly networking events for the Chamber
• Oversees a Business Expo at the Pinckney Band Boosters Spaghetti Dinner
• Can now enjoy telling people to “Go to Hell!”… the Hamlet of Hell, MI has recently joined the P.L.H.H. Chamber.

American Cancer Society & Brighton Relay for Life

 

• Passionate supporter of the American Cancer Society

 

• Serves on the organization committee for the Brighton Relay for Life
  • Gives team presentations
  • Created local media contacts for Relay
  • Actively recruits new teams throughout the year & motivates participation

• A few years ago… was part of the “Ms. Relay” Contest - stunning in a red dress, pretty long blonde locks, high heels & all!!

 

• Additionally, was the Master of Ceremonies at the 2009 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks in Howell and Ann Arbor.

Pinckney High School

 

• Sells 50/50 Raffle Tickets at all football & boys basketball games
  • Wears a pirate hat with fake long black hair
  • Has raised thousand of dollars over the years for the Booster Club & has continued even after his daughters graduated in 2004 and 2006
• Was involved with the Pinckney Schools Career Advisory Committee

 

• Past presenter on Career Day at the middle and high schools

 

Livingston Association of Realtors - 2003 Recipient, Volunteer of the Year Award

 

Along with local and community involvement, Rick also volunteers within his industry. He plans “After Hours” events at different local restaurants. This event brings together agents from all of the different local real estate companies. It provides an opportunity for open communication and discussion about the local market conditions.

 

Bleachers Sports Bar, Pinckney

 

• Rick worked on the sale of this building with the new owners
  • Constantly striving to bring more people into the Pinckney area
• Secured an area in the front of the building for local Chamber members to display business cards and information on their services
  • Info Center supplies maps & local information for restaurant patrons
